‘’Are you okay?’’ You asked Lovino who was in the hospital bed.
‘’No. The god damned doctor won’t let me leave.’’ He said angrily. You said nothing.
‘’What’s wrong?’’ He asked noticing you were staring off.
‘’Nothing.’’
‘’____________, what.is.wrong?’’ He asked again.
‘’Damn Lovino I said nothing!’’ You felt all of the sadness you were feeling begin to tear you apart.
‘’Okay, something’s definitely wrong... Why are you wearing-‘’ You flinched away when he went for the cross around your neck.
‘’Don’t touch it.’’
‘’Why are you wearing Ludwig’s cross?’’
‘’...’’
‘’_____________.’’
‘’Reasons.’’
‘’Can I know?’’
‘’I’d rather not tell you.’’ You didn’t plan on telling him about Ludwig. You were slowly dying inside and you planned to leave back home as soon as everything was okay. Of course, nothing would be okay again.

‘’No.’’
‘’DAMN WOMAN! WHAT THE HELL’S WRONG?’’
’’Please stop yelling.’’
‘’It’s about Ludwig isn’t it? You liked him didn’t you?’’
‘’...’’
‘’So I guess that means, you never really did like me did you? Not even one bit?’’ His face started to grow red.
‘’He was my husband.’’
‘’I don’t give a ... wait what?’’ Lovino sat up in the bed.
‘’He was... My husband.’’
‘’What... what the hell are you talking about?’’
‘’Ludwig... he was my husband.’’
‘'You... You were married?... To Ludwig!?’’
‘’Yes.’’
‘’What, how...How did you meet him?’’
‘’I... we went to school together. A private school in Denver.’’
‘’In America?’’
‘’Yeah.’’
‘’...Oh yes, I remember. During Junior year he left unexpectedly.’’
‘’You knew him back then?’’ You were suddenly very interested.
‘’Yes. I never actually got along with him though. Only Feliciano did.’’
‘’Oh. What was he like.?’’ You took a seat on a chair next to the hospital bed.
‘’Well. He was... not as muscular as he got after the army. He... always smiled. And laughed and made jokes. It was quite irritating. Then, he went to America. Denver I suppose. He didn’t come back until after 4 years. When he did, he was distraught. He never smiled, made jokes, or laughed the same again... Feliciano asked him once what had happened, he said he went to the German army for a while, and that... He couldn’t go back to his old life. That...  He couldn’t face the life he had before.’’ I never understood him though. Never. But I believe that old life he talked about... was you.’’ He looked away
‘’What did he say when you married Isabella?’’ The question rang in your Head. Had he thought it was you?
‘’Well... coming to think of it... He... he cried when he saw her, Isabella didn’t understand why though. Did you ever tell him you had a twin sister?’’
‘’No. Isabella and I weren’t talking to each other back then.’’
‘’Yes he... he cried. He just started at her. I guess when he saw that Isabella didn’t recognize him, he just...either thought it was someone different or... gave up. ‘’ You felt a tear roll down your cheek.
‘’He was really important to you wasn’t he?’’ Lovino wiped the tear away from your cheek.
‘’Yes. Then when they told me he was dead...’’
‘’That he was dead?’’
‘’Yes. I got a call on morning and... The people from the German force informed me that he had died in a fire.’’
‘’This is hard to believe. Are you sure it was him?’’
‘’OF COURSE I’M SURE! DAMN IT LOVINO HE WAS MY HUSBAND! HE WAS THE FATHER OF MY LITTLE GIRL! OF COURSE I’M SURE! HE TOLD ME THE SAME THING HE TOLD ME BEFORE HE WENT TO THE ARMY.... HE TOLD ME... BEFORE... before... he... he...’’ You felt yourself losing the strength in your feet.
‘’______________...’’ You heard and you collapsed.

‘’Lieben... Lieben wake up.’’ Your eyes opened immediately at the sound of Ludwig’s voice.
‘’Lud... Ludie...’’
‘’Don’t talk...’’
‘’Your alive...’’
‘’No... _________... I’m not alive. This is a dream.’’
‘’I want to stay with you.’’
‘’I’m afraid that’s not possible.’’
‘’Please...’’
‘’There’s a lot waiting for you once you wake up. I...I wanted to know something.’’
‘’Anything.’’
‘’Did you still...love me when I died?’’
‘’Ludwig... of course I did. I never stopped loving you. Never...’’

‘’Yes.’’

‘’Hm...’’ You were admiring him. His beautiful face, his kind, delicate words. And his hand that was holding yours.
‘’Remember when I told you we were always going to be together?’’
‘’Yes.’’ You smiled remembering that day.
‘’We’re not. I want you to start a new life. And try to get rid of all the love You feel for me. I’m dead now. You can’t love a dead person the same way you can love a person that’s alive.’’ He was looking away as he said this.
‘’I’ve loved you all this time, believing you were dead. You can’t ask me to stop. It’s impossible.’’
‘’Everything is possible lieben.’’
‘’If everything is possible than take me with you.’’
‘’No. There are people that care for greatly and that waiting for you to awaken. I cannot take you away from them. Even if I want to be you... You deserve to be happy. When it is your time though, I’ll be waiting... with Analiece.’’ He got closer to your face and kissed you. A passionate, delicate, long, eternal feeling kiss. You put your hand on the back of his head, touching his neat blonde hair trying to hold him back from leaving, but he delicately pulled away and smiled at you. He stood up and touched your cheek. He walked away into the dim light. Before he could go in a little girl about 4 years old came out of the light. She was a blonde little girl with sky blue eyes and she was wearing a white knee length dress and black sandals. Her hair was down. It was shoulder length. She was absolutely beautiful. She reached for Ludwig’s hand and looked at you, then smiled the most beautiful smile ever. It was the same as Ludwig’s smile, but on her. She looked at you again and then at Ludwig.
‘’That’s mommy.’’ She said sweetly.
‘’Yes Analiece, that’s your mommy.’’
‘’She’s so pretty.’’
‘’Gloriously beautiful.’’ Ludwig said as he looked at you.
‘’I’ve been watching you mommy. You’re never alone. Only when you want to be. Then I’ll leave, but I’ll come back as soon as you want someone by your side. Just believe mommy.’’ She turned to look at Ludwig then to the floor. Ludwig turned to look at you then whispered the words ‘I love you’ then he walked hand in hand with your daughter, into the light.
